About Stevie Heath
Stevie grew up on a tobacco farm in eastern North Carolina the youngest of six kids - three boys, three girls. Always being surrounded by a family of music lovers, he especially loved the Motown and Soul sounds of the 1960s. He started collecting music at a very young age when 45s were only 3 for $1.00. He was even the “family DJ” at times, wanting to share the music he loved.
Stevie continued collecting records into adulthood, and that is when Carolina Beach Music and the Shag dance had once again become so popular with almost all ages in the Carolinas. Stevie played music at house parties during the years at Greene Central High School in Snow Hill, NC, but the Beach Music/Shag scene was where he wanted to be. Stevie had been close friends with the legendary Steve Hardy of Steve Hardy's Original Beach Party, then on WRQR-FM 94.3 in Farmville. Hardy took Stevie under his wing and gave him the experience needed to play for these Shag clubs, and dance contests.
Stevie got really excited about going out to play music for dances, and parties. In August 1983, Stevie opened a teen club in Snow Hill with a dance every Saturday night. The name of the club? You guessed it, the Endless Summer. That name stuck as he began to go out to other clubs, and as a mobile DJ. So that is how the Endless Summer Beach & Dance Party came about.
Still today Stevie is known for his knowledge and expertise in Carolina Beach Music. He works closely with Steve Hardy's Original Beach Party, representing Mr. Hardy when he is unavailable for an event. Weddings have become a large part of our bookings, however we are available for just about any type of celebration where you need a DJ, an emcee, or just a sound system.
